🤿 Underwater spots 🌊 Ocean spotsElphinstone Reef is one of the most famous scuba diving sites in the Red Sea, especially for the observation of whitetip sharks and hammerhead sharks. Located 12km off the coast of the city of Marsa Alam in Egypt, this coral reef has developed on top of an underwater mountain. With its 400 meters long and 20 meters wide, it is made for experienced divers due to the strong current. The aquatic life is abundant. In addition to sharks, you can observe soft corals, manta rays, dolphins, turtles and a multitude of fish including the Napoleons. Extended to the north and south by two plateaus, with spectacular vertical drop-offs to the east and west, the reef is home to caves, cracks, and the famous Elphinstone Arch. The best time to get there is from October to December, although diving in this warm sea is possible all year round.
